TASSIM  in performing this function tries to influence government policies that affect micro and small scale industries. It has therefore initiated the following actions;

• Acting as the main medium of communication and lead advocate between the micro and small scale industries and the government of Tanzania  as well as international partner organizations.
• Dialoguing with government, local and international partner organizations for changes and formulation of policies which will lead to improvement of micro and small scale industries.
• Drawing up recommendations on economic and industrial issues affecting micro and small scale industries for consideration by the government and stakeholders.
• Representing small scale industries at both national and international seminars and workshops.
